Race to Adventure

Race to Adventure is a heart pounding and obstacle ridden trail race in Durango Mountain Park. Rick Callies has planned races in the four corner's region for over 10 years, and he has now partnered with Unite Our World to use racing as a way to raise donations. (more coming soon!)

For the past two years, Ms. Lang has opened her classroom to Unite Our World. Students tie-dye a t-shirt for Unite Our World's projects in Uganda. The money raised from each student has paid teachers, built classrooms, and fed children within the Mweruka Village. A big thank you to all the students at Eagle View Middle School.

 

Unite Our World Online

Evan Wroblewski

Evan has committed his time and skill to building Unite Our World's online community. In the spring of 2011,  Evan and Unite Our World partnered to create an online community for good. All the work you see on UniteOurWorld.ORG has been free of charge thanks to Evan. This is an amazing example of someone using their talent to unite!

Life Don't Stop was a silent auction showcasing Trent Taylor's original works of art. All the proceeds from the event went to building the newest classroom at Mweruka Junior School.  Trent also traveled to Mweruka to help complete the third classroom last summer. 300 Shoes in 11 Days

In the spring of 2011, Kathy and Greg collected over 300 pairs of shoes for the students and teachers of Mweruka Junior School. For many of the students it was the first time putting on a pair of shoes. Greg was even featured on the Spokane news to help raise awareness for the campaign.

Brittany Lang is using her love of education as a way to promote peace and global awareness. She has planned community youth awareness days to challenge young minds to think global, and act local. The local youth complete fun and creative projects that teach environmental responsibility, global awareness, and the importance to analyze multiple perspectives. Brittany Lang has also traveled to Mweruka Junior School for the last two years. She has spent time teaching students and helping with community projects. Brittany is currently student teaching in Durango and plans to devote a year of her life teaching in Mweruka, Uganda.

During the summer of 2010, Dan Peters devoted himself to helping Unite Our World build the first classroom at Mweruka Junior School.  Dan has worked construction for most his life and has built everything from homes to skyscrapers. The help Dan provided was extremely important to the project's success. The Head Master of Mweruka Junior School, Robert, once said, “The classroom Dan built will forever hold all the others up”. Dan continues to be an influential part of Unite Our World today.

Matt Dunbar partnered with Unite Our World and used his friend's art to make a difference. Matt collected works of art from local artist and helped sell them at the FLC's yearly Sky Fest. All the proceeds raised went to helping cement classroom floors at Mweruka Junior School.  Matt traveled to Mweruka in 2011 and was crucial in completing our summer projects.
