In December we took a huge step forward in helping to make Mweruka Junior School more self-sustained. A portion of the teacher’s monthly salary along with the food fund was paid for by the sales of our pineapple project. In June 2009, Mweruka Junior School planted 3,000 pineapples. We harvested the first round of crops last month after a year of care! Now the plants will produce two more pineapples each.
